Weddings
Today I had a most pleasant visit from my flower vendor I use for weddings. What a suprise it was to see the guy behind the phone actually making the trip!
This wedding is pretty straight forward, sleek and elegant so unloading the truck and looking at 300 white iris, white orchids and pink roses is quite the treat, especially since arranging flowers is something I do miss on a daily basis. Anyway, back to the wedding, my bride and groom have choosen a color scheme of "Watermelon" and black and white damask. Lovely! Setting up a cookie bar using vintage plates and vases. Tonight I make sure the backdrop is set and ready to go and unload my vases and decorations but for tonight I sleep amongst the flowers. I will add photos later after everything is perfectly arranged.

Loving my Job
After a couple of days of hard work and months of planning I am right where I want to be with this wedding. Corsages and bouts aren't exactly my favorite part of the wedding decor and flowers but when I am standing here making these I know the hardest part of my day is over. This means most of the hard work is done, rehearsal and the big day for my brides. If I have done my job well (with the help of one of my daughters) I have bouquets to make in the morning, candles to have lit and then to see the couple down the isle. What a beautiful day it was for them!
Too Close for Comfort
Next week and another wedding. I am not going to lie, I LOVE a wedding but when I booked these two there were several things I did not take into account. My youngest was leaving for college, I had one with a baby on the way, it was a holiday weekend and working weddings two weekds in a row takes a LOT out of you. I am thanking god that my newest grandson Charlie is the best newborn in the world. In a stroller at the hall you hardly know there is a baby around. I have done many craft projects for this wedding.
Satin Flowers
Here are the flowers the bridesmaids wore in there hair. I cut 2 sizes of circles of bridal satin added a few snips and melted them with a candle, sewed pearls in the middle and added some feathers. The bride has choosen to go with a bright sage, plum and lavender color scheme. The theme of her wedding was a patio party.
The entrance
An arbor built by the brides uncle. I decorated it with a nice silk garland, lights and ribbon. The arrangements are purple stock, snapdragons, and green button pomps.
Guest Tables and Seating
Unfortunately in this area there isn't a rental place close so all halls have plastic back fold out chairs. I do my best to make the tables knock your socks off beautiful to keep the eye busy and the brain engaged in the other things on the tables, also putting something up on the lighting changes your focus a little. The arrangements mof snapdragons, white spider mums, green buttons, purple stock and mini pit are in canning jars, surrounded by painted flower pots painted by the bride, the room really did look like a patio.
