Busy Busy Busy....
So this October has been an insanely busy month for me. Just finished the biggest wedding of the year for me. I believe I helped this bride have the day she has dreammed about all her life, everything she wanted, she had. I feel like every girl I help marry off is like one of my own. God love them all and God bless their marriages.
I know you are wondering why the frankenstein and bumble bee costumes and what do they have to do with the weddings, well truthfully absolutely nothing. These are two of the costumes I have made for a couple of my grandchildren, Charlie 3 mos. old and Marlow who is almost 4. Since I crochet hats and sew for a living the hats were a no brainer, the only issue was how to make the costumes without patterns and use as much scrap I had. Charlies little jacket and pants were made with brown jersey I purchased when Wal Mart had the dollar fabric bin then all I had to do is pull out the puffy paints and felt and voila' little frankenstein. My little miss queen bee cost me a little! I had to purchase the black and white fabric and a spool each of the pre cut tulle at the dollar tree so I am thinking she cost me about $5 all together. I was very happy with the results and when little Miss saw her costume the look on her face was all I needed when she tried it on (with the black chuck taylor look alikes beaded toes and all) she felt like every kiddo should on halloween.
Between the wedding, halloween costumes and all the birthday orders I have been zapped, I don't remember ever being this drained but that is the price you pay for being popular I guess! Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe halloween weekend, as much as I would like to go out and see all the freaks at the bars my Husband and I will see the kids Trick or Treating on Main St. on Friday night then off to Louisville to see my Daughter and her family in for the weekend, house hunting and looking at schools for the kids. Did I mention they are moving back up from south Florida over Christmas break? Oh yeah this Nanna is over the moon!
