All Endings are a Beginning to something New
I have begun a new phase of my life as an empty nester. My youngest is starting her second year of college complete with a house this year and a job so home time will be a challenge for her and me for that matter. I have after all spent the last 32 years mothering and homekeeping for a family of 9. My husband has always bordered on workaholism and my job was to raise our children. I have also worked many jobs outside of our home to help with the financial undertaking of a family this large including many years as a florist.
Self Therapy
Here is a little bit of old school and a new love. I taught myself to do basic crochet stitches and started making hats. With 7 grandchildren I thought it would be something fun for me to make for them. I have been tie dying since grade school during a day camp offered in my neighborhood and I am still somewhat of a hippie at heart. I posted these on my Facebook page and in came the orders. Before this I was doing just hats and some sewing for friends and my grandchildren. I will post pictures of a lot of this later and I mean a lot, from shorts to First Communion Dresses to Prom and Wedding. This is and has been how I kept my sanity and my own little place to go through out the trials and tribulations of married life and parenting.
As I am new to this whole blogging thing it will take me a while to catch on and up with it all. As I tell my kids, especially the youngest, I am an artist, a creator of things not a computer technition! Bear with it will get better, I promise. I have a lot to share and I can't wait!
